961 Knif-Ax
I'd like to see some of the beautiful Knif-Ax combo's I know you guys are sitting on. I had a 261 walnut handle combo back in the mid 60's when I was a 12 year old. Can you imagine putting a Knif-Ax in the hands of a 12 year old today
To get things started here's my 961. It's the "indestructable" pearl celluloid.

Nice set-up Wazu! I've got one in the same handle material, but it's in the middle of being refurbished. I restored one in walnut for a fellow collector a few years ago. The handles and blade were great. The ax had some nasty scratches. After removing the scratches, most of the chrome plating was gone, so with a good polishing it went to a local chrome shop. $60 just to get it re-chromed, but now his set really is back to mint condition. Sorry to ramble. It's just that's the same plans I have for mine. I'll post some pictures of my Kinfolks tomorrow rather than wake the wife trying to find it tonight.

I was too lazy to remove these from the sheath and take multiple pics . These are bound for a knife/gun show this weekend . They should bring $1000 - $1200 for the 3 .

Here's my Kinfolks. My Case still needs some more work before I can take it to the chrome shop. I'll check with the owner of the one I had re-chromed a few years ago and see if I can get us some pictures.

Re: 961 Knif-Ax
I just picked this set up yesterday. I have been wanting one of these sets for a very long time. I found it listed on craiglist, and had to travel 200 miles(round trip) to get it. Can someone please tell me why the arm that holds the blade/ax in place is not closing all the way. Am I doing something wrong? Appreciate any comments, Tim

Those are some fine looking combos! Since this is in the Case forum I can't show mine, it is a Shapleigh's/St.Louis U.S.A., used/abused, no where near the ones you fellers have shown
.
But I have a question on this type of set up: Are these combos, knife/axe, very practical? Mine belonged to my Dad, and I can never recall him using it when I was a boy. The axe ain't big enough and the knife is too big for most things for my personal use
. Would love to hear how these are used.

Thanks guys for the comments, After finally getting one in hand, I'll have to agree with treefarmer that these sets seem a little impracticle. But these sets book for high dollars for some reason, and imo, I couldn't go wrong. thanks, Tim

Sweet sets, everyone!
They might be my new Holy Grail.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
