AMKCA Knife Club and Bear Shield Symbol

Does anyone out there know any history on the AMKCA Knife Club or the history on the Bear shield symbol they have used on their 'Club Knives"???

I "Googled" AMKCA but got no real good definition or information. I have seen several AMKCA Knives out there but just can't find info on them or the knives they have commissioned.

Glad to help. No, not a member, but I have kept up on many, many local knife clubs over the years and joined a few for a while, mainly to get a desired annual 'club knife'. The 'Gator' club down in your state issued many five inch texas toothpicks over the years, which is what I mainly collect.

The 'Gem City' club has had some fine club knives over the years, featuring various precious gems set into the handles.

It can be interesting to look over what knives clubs issue every year. They reflect the local tastes in knives, or at least that of the board of directors. Or, the choice of annual knives can illustrate what is a popular pattern-- then and now.

I think the joining far away knife clubs has kinda dwindled over the internet years. Before the World Wide Web, it was a good way to stay connected to the knife world. I think it is still a good practice, and some annual dues are very, very cheap.

I'm still waiting for my own home state club (Wolverine Knife Collectors) to send me the annual club knife we choose for this year... a pearl handled Canal St. Cannittler.
