Glenn, the frame consists of brass liners, solid nickel bolsters, and jigged black celluloid scales with spun brass pins. I was pretty happy to add it to my hoard
This is the first utica I have seen, it is very well made and has great walk and talk and all the tools lock in perfectly, the hammer shows light use, you can see the marks on the face of it where they used it as a tack hammer or something, but it is virtually unused, which is odd considering what it was made for. The only thing similar I have seen are cheaper made sets made on contract by colonial and such.
I would love to see a pic of your tool kit by NYKC. I'd like to learn as much as I can about these sets.
