I got a good price on another GEC #56 Dogleg and decided to add an Easy-Open notch.
Was not too difficult and I am happy with the results........

Very cool man. You can't go wrong with a eo knife. No matter what pattern it is it looks better with eo notched out,in my opinion.

Good job Trevor. I agree with Phillip, I think it improved the appearance of the knife but then I may be prejudiced 'cause I'm an EZ-Open fan.

Very nice job Trevor!

I have not worked on that pattern, but I think a lanyard loop would be pretty easy to do on the bare end and look right at home as well.

very nice, dremel tool works wonders eh? if you can live with 3/16" lanyard tube the spring and liners can accommodate drilling out to the larger size and using the tube at the butt end pin

Used a dremel with a drum sander attachment and then a large bolt with fine sandpaper wrapped around it to finish.
Buffed with dremel a little to remove sanding marks.

Thanks Kaleb for the info....just been trying to get up the nerve to drill on it. The EO notch came out real nice,
worried that I will crack the bone trying to do too much. Also I like a lanyard tube to be large enough to actually
use (hope GEC is listening, LOL)......I have some various sizes on hand, maybe I will dig out some 3/16" and see if
it will do.

OK, that would be fine then.....Thank You for letting me know, the EO's you built me are my favorites and the stag one is my main EDC.....it's a 100% perfect knife!!

How is the lanyard tube 'peened' without cracking the bone?

use a tapered punch and go slow, you can also use short tapered pieces and flare it by compressing in a vice, I seen somewhere that's how Tony bose does it but can't remember where I seen it.

I have had success using a flaring tool made for flaring copper tubing when attaching fittings to the copper tubing.
The brass is not much harder than the copper; the only problem is getting something for the fingers of the flaring tool to grip. I usually have to make something to fit behind the knife for the flaring tool to grip. A piece of flat bar can work or a piece of thin micarta.

A hardware store or plumbing shop should have a flaring tool.

it can be reamed a bit depending on the properties of the material. bone should be chamfered a bit to reduce the risk of cracking but tough materials like micarta or G10 you can just beat crap out of to flare it as much as you want with very little worry of damaging the handle material. natural materials are much more fragile though so go slow and steady.
