1225 Remington
I recently acquired a knife on eBay that is supposed to be a Remington 1225 equal end jack knife. I got the knife and it was in excellent condition. I am a little suspicious because the price was low for a real Remington of this quality, also it is a clone of a #23 Camillus. Do any of you have a 1225 Remington that you could post a picture of ? Did Camillus make this knife in the 90's with Remington tang stamps? The eBay item number is 350826614679. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 1225 Remington
I don't think it was Camillus, but someone did make up a bunch of counterfeit R1225's. I believe yours was part of that lot. The etch was laser engraved on the ones I saw. My R 1225's have 4 pins per side vs. 3 on the fakes. The nail pull is too short in that it doesn't extend all the way to the tang. The use of a brass center pin vs, nickel silver.
I don't remember which knife book it was but there was a R1225's shown in a price list and I'm 99% sure it was one of the "newer" knives also. Its late tonight, but I'll take a couple pictures of an authentic R1225 tomorrow for you to compare to yours. We had a discussion here a couple years ago about the lot of recently made R1225's and it was the general consensus that the frames were original Camillus with aftermarket Remington blades installed.

Re: 1225 Remington
It seems I received one of the fakes. I don't have a lot of money in it and it is a very nice knife so I guess I'll hang on to it. I think I will send the seller an e mail and let him know that I know. Thanks for all the help.

I'm not very computer literate but you can type in the eBay number and see the listing with pictures.
