i have a cattaraugus knife that i can't find any info on. its serial number is 2284. white celluloid? handle, two blade opens on opposite ends... wondering if anyone knows anything about these knives

I'm not a collector of older knives, per se, others here probably know more about older knives, but I enjoy the hunt for information.
A Cattaragus #2284 (that is the Model #) is listed as the larger version Stock Pen Knife, in the Ritchie and Stewart book "The Standard Knife Collectors Guide". In Dead Mint condition, it might bring around $300 to someone who really wanted it. Any wear whatsoever, would reduce the value considerably.

A picture, showing the tangstamping (name, etc.) would help a lot.

thanks for replying... I don't really want to get rid of it... i will, instead start collecting knives... I do enjoy knives, but mostly for practical use (gutting fish in Canada), but this was given to me and it has perked my interest... I don't have a web cam but it is in pretty perfect condition. WhenI got it the locking mechanism was so tight it could barely be opened. It has never been sharpened, opens on both ends and is cracked ice celluloid with a bowie type larger blade and smaller pen knife... if that is the correct description of the knife you located in your, what seems to be, bible of pocket knives... going to have to get that book. thanks again bill
