Buck 322 Congress

Hello, I am new to here. I am looking for a 322 Congress would prefer the black delrin handles. Doesn't have to be new but in good condition. Also would like to know all model #'s of the Buck 300 line. I have some gaps to fill. Thanks!

A Congress will turn up at one of the sale sites if you get no response to postings.

First we have to set down the rules. A 'model' is a factory design that is different from other designs. A 'version' is factory design change to a specific model and continues to be listed as that first issue model. Most collectors consider a complete collection to have all the 'versions'. Such as the 322, there is one model but two versions, black and yellow scales.

Just the black sawcut versions of the 300s from 1966 to 1990, will make you find 55 + versions ......I have been looking for 20 years and still need three. Research among Buck Collectors Club 300 folks has actually seen two versions eliminated by declaring it only a operator or machine depth setting difference. Not a design change. Let me remind the unkowning, that Buck 300 models were first a contract made knife, first by Schrade and then many years and most of the named models by Camillus. Buck took over four versions in 1990 but Camillus continued to produce other models up to 2000. Many of the 90's models not made by Buck were special order projects to Camillus by Smoky Mountain Knife Works but are considered and marked BUCK. Only Buck produced models will have a date code on the tang.

Add in yellow, red, jigged bone, stag and special issues and many more versions will need to be added. I am not even considering prototypes never actually produced and sold. I actually have never taken the time to count up, as maybe only one collector is close to a complete set and he is not me......

Thank you 300Bucks. First of all I need to clarify something for you. I am not interested in trying to have every variation. I like the black delrin handles and that's about it. As far as having a complete collection like you are attempting to have it is not my goal. I don't think I have broken any rules.

Nope, no broken rules. Just discussing 300 collecting to everyone interested and reading. The 55+ versions were only black sawcuts if I did not make that clear. I know a couple of folks who just like the black scales and just want one of each model not caring for details such as two brass liners on one side or just one. Hope your search goes well.

Saw a mistake I made in text of earlier post, actually Buck started making the 301,303,309 and 305 in very late 1985. 300

Thank you again. I fit the category of your friends, just want one of each model and don't care about the variations. I have a lot of Buck knifes but most are 110's and Kalinga's. Some of mine I have had custom made for me by Wilde Bill Cody. His work is awesome!
