Now those are some fantastic examples of stag, they would make anyone fall in love with a stag knife...Very nice SK & Jim...You had better hide that away from MM..He's going to want it SK..
Hey Jim, Northwoods uses the best stag I have seen on a modern knife, I have not seen anyone match the quality and depth of what they are putting on knives..

Hey guys,
Speaking of nice stag, I'm pretty new to all this as this question will probably show. I have a Case XX 5172 SSP Blue Scroll 3dot with a B on the handle, what the heck is that B?? I haven't seen it on any of the others ones I've seen, maybe it's just an identification somene put on there but it looks like it was inked or whatever under the finish. Here's a picture...

Second Cut Stag
This almost deserves a thread of its own. Second Cut Stag; there are many rumors and opinions about it, but I'll just post it, and hopefully hear some of your ideas!!

here's some of my stag
here is my ten dots stag complete with shipping manifest from case. altough the cheetah has only 8 visible dots i dont know if 2 more hidden under swing guard, I have gotten conflicting statements on that. maybe someone here could shed some light on that question.. and the bowie you see is 89 centenial but the rest are 10 dots these were handed down to me from an uncle who bought them in 1973. the pack list says 5 hunting knives, but 2 were sold at the hardware store before he bought them. hope a like. sorry for the bad photography.

That is one incredible set, I take it he was a favorite uncle..I wonder what he paid for the set back then??
Very nice, thanks for sharing..That bowie is jaw dropping beautiful...
Hey Upnorth,
I have seen 2nd cut stag that looks better than some original stag. That is one nice knife. I have also seen on a regular basis folks calling winterbottom 2nd cut stag...

Re: here's some of my stag
I believe I remember Perry (knifekid) having a post with a 10 dot and it may have been the swing guard. Worth checking.johnnyt00 wrote:here is my ten dots stag complete with shipping manifest from case. altough the cheetah has only 8 visible dots i dont know if 2 more hidden under swing guard, I have gotten conflicting statements on that. maybe someone here could shed some light on that question.. and the bowie you see is 89 centenial but the rest are 10 dots these were handed down to me from an uncle who bought them in 1973. the pack list says 5 hunting knives, but 2 were sold at the hardware store before he bought them. hope a like. sorry for the bad photography.

Re: here's some of my stag
I found the following thread where Perry (knifekid) tells how to to distinguish a 10 dot Cheetah. You may want to repost this seperately as it is an impressive set of knives and they will get lost in this thread. With pictures of course. Here's the link.johnnyt00 wrote:here is my ten dots stag complete with shipping manifest from case. altough the cheetah has only 8 visible dots i dont know if 2 more hidden under swing guard, I have gotten conflicting statements on that. maybe someone here could shed some light on that question.. and the bowie you see is 89 centenial but the rest are 10 dots these were handed down to me from an uncle who bought them in 1973. the pack list says 5 hunting knives, but 2 were sold at the hardware store before he bought them. hope a like. sorry for the bad photography.
