LF&C New Britain - What Is The Best Known Catalog?

Post by bestgear »

I have a couple of dozen different LF&C New Britain knives that I'd like to catalog and learn more about others that Landers Frary & Clark produced from their New Britain Connecticut factory. My family is from New Britain and I had a few relatives who worked at that factory. When hunting for Scout knives when I lived in Connecticut I would often run across an LF&C knife and many times they made their way home with me. Thanks for any assistance or guidance you can lend.

Other than an original LF&C catalog or a reprint of same, you could try J. Bruce Voyles' International Blade Collectors Association Price Guide To Antique Knives, 2nd Edition, 1995.

There are several pages of LF&C knives in it.

I don't know how much help this will be but Jim Parker's Official Price Guide to Collector Knives(9th edition dated 1987) has two pages of LF&C knife part numbers and descriptions but no pictures.

I agree Charlie, that book has a lot of pictures of older knife companies, not just the big names. It's one of my favorites.
