My carving knife converted to bushcraft knife...

Post by TripleF »

There is another thread where I asked for info to determine the maker and only potential reply came in. None the less, I converted this knife to somewhat of a bushcraft knife. It was a carving knife I purchased at an estate sale for $.25.

I ended up using a Dremel to cut the anglular portions off....

I think you did a good job.
The bushcraft knife doesn't have to be pretty to be functional.
Take it out and see if you can split some wood with it.

Nice conversion, Scott! Looks like it could be a good skinner too. ::tu:: You'll have to post some pictures of it in action.

Impressive Scott, especially considering you did most of that with a file! ::tu:: ::tu::

Scott -- I'm sure you're going to take that on your missions with the boys and use it to teach them a little bush-craft. Once they're old enough, you can pass that on to one of the boys and they will have something that was grandpa's they remember from when they were a kid.

Hey looks like it did quite well Scott, you got yourself a nice little pile there! ::tu::
How'd the edge hold up to all of that hard work?
