OK,
I'm just learning/goofing around with a little better camera, so...all are Stockman patterns.....

1. Fight'n Rooster, pile side, (Days of Our Lives...got it for my wife

).

2. Strange one...made for Parker's, I believe. Marked with the Kinfolks script, but NO country of origin, pattern #, etch...nada, zip, zilch.

3. Fight'n Rooster (Marked PROTOTYPE)

I like natural materials for scales...but, sometimes you just gotta have some PIZZAAAZZ!

EDIT: I'm adding a second (better?) picture with the mark side of the first knife. Oooops...it's now first. Whatever.

Here's an old Royal, in cracked ice, and birdseye rivets. Don't know how old it is, but they stopped making them in 1954, I believe.

Come on now, SHOW SOME SKIN!!....Er, I mean celluloid.

Hey Bill;
Never having been one to pass an opportunity by. For your inspection, they are the usual suspects, Utica,Kastor,camillus,a K&S from Germany i can find nothing about it. Oh, there's a case in the mix also. I have no idea which are cel. If it is in view check out the tiny trapper blocking up a blade.

hey, great looking knives!! i too like to collect bone or natural handled knives, but here are a few that i have. these are cases and the first is a 1976 pen knife 92042 with cracked ice handles, next is a case pen 9233 with immitation pearl handles, and the last is an older case xx 22055lp with slick black handles....not sure but i guess that would be classified under the celluloid category.

thanks, that knife was originally bought to give as a christmas gift, but i just couldnt bring myself to part with it, so i ended up keeping that one and got the person another knife......bad huh. i guess that happens sometimes when you have the fever...lol.

Nice, just be sure to store them away from the exotic handles, so when they start to self destruct they don't take the exotic's with them

Much of the newer celluloid is not as volatile as the older stuff was (thank goodness).
There is some interesting information here...

The newer stuff is based around cellulose acetates and seems to be more stable than the older style of nitrated cellulose. Some of the older places where celluloid was made even had hinged roofs, for when it blew.

I do, however, keep that old Royal by itself, and the others in the open air, just for drill.

That might be true for the newer ones, they just don't have the track history yet for me to be sure, in my lifetime, i will never see the truth behind the claims, but my children will, not taking any chances tho, I have sold off the bulk of my cell collection, taking a subtantial loss i might add, but putting those funds into the more exotic and rare versions for my children to enjoy.
I often wonder why you see the newer celluliod fightn roosters on ebay always described with a few pepper spots on the blades, but the same pattern of knife with exotic are pretty much described as being in mint, are the celluloids just startin to do their thing? who knows?
I now have bout 5 Cells remaining in my collection, just could not bare to part with them. Those are kept at home, so I can watch them more closely, the bulk of the exotics are in the safe deposit boxes, pristine as the day they were born!

i have a cracked ice knife, with blades similar to the case imitation pearl pen knife you posted, but it is a cattaraugus #2284.... can't find any info on cats with only four numbers... new to this "collecting"... anyone know anything?
