So many things wrong with this knife it'll take a while.

In the first place, I don't ever remember seeing a Tested era knife with a matchstriker pull, strike one. Number two, I don't ever remember seeing a Tested era knife with a badge shield, strike two. Third, the seller is Myrtlefake, strike three, this knife is out.

Just for good measure, the shield doesn't have Case's name on it, I have seen the occasional authentic knife without the Case name, generally because it's worn off, but I've also heard that some were put on upside down, still, not a good sign. Finally, I posted this knife before I had looked at the tang stamp, but one look at that monstrosity would have been enough to convince me that the knife is wrong.

It's almost like Myrtlefake wants to poke collectors in the eye with some of his listings, normally he sells obscure brands that almost nobody is familiar with and therefore it's hard to really pin him down with hard evidence of chicanery. It takes a lot of effrontery to try to pass off a Case Tested knife with as much reference material as there is on this mark.

I'm blind! The first thing (other than the seller) should have been the shield! - Even a non-Case collector should have seen that!.

I am not a Case collector, but I do collect Schrade.
What jumped out to me is the frame & shield.
They look like a Schrade Open Stock knife from the 1950s or 1960s.

Did Case ever use a frame like that?

Take a look at the tang stamp, still crisp and too thick. Not correct.

At first glance I was thinking Schrade too. If you look down the page under item specifics myrtlefaye lists it has a Schrade brand. The truth comes out accidently lol.

This is the best example of a "cold stamp" that I have seen . It would be a good reference .

Why would someone take a nice Schrade and turn it into a bad Case? If it was a Cut Co, is it really worth that much extra to do all that work? I wouldn't even do it to a Walden.
