Vintage Remington?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Vintage-Re ... 1c33834abc Seller describes this as a vintage Remington. Remington ceased production of knives before WW11. Jets were not developed until after WW11. Kind of hard to swallow that claim.

The Germans had a jet fighter,the British had the first commercial airliner about 1958.The of the style on the knife was abut the same time(1958) into the 60's

The Germans had the first operational jet fighter--the Me 262--in combat by July '44. They also had the first jet bomber, the Ar 234. The Me 163 was a rocket-powered interceptor, and not particularly successful.

At about the same time, the Brits got the Meteor operational, at first using it against the V1 over Britain, and later in some ground attack roles in Europe. (If I remember right, the Meteor was actually the first production jet, beating the Germans by several weeks.) The US was working on the P-59 (which never amounted to anything). By 1945, the Japanese had a modified copy of the Me-262.

By the end of 1945, the British had the Meteor and were bringing out the Vampire, the US had the F-80, and the Czechs were beginning production of some variant Me-262s . . . and in 1950, a US pilot flying an F-80 managed to shoot down 2 Mi-15s in the first jet-to-jet dogfight. The first commercial jetliner was the De Havilland Comet; it reached commercial production in 1952 and began falling out of the sky in 1954.

Which is all a long way to say that ain't no Remington: no how, no way.

Nope they had both,the comet was a rocket plane but they had a jet to.The Heinkel HE178 was the first plane to fly under turbojet power.Most people don't seem to know that the British had a jet by the end of the war"Gloster Meteor" First operational Allied jet fighter, entered Service July 27 1944.They did not have the steal that would hold up to the heat that the jet engines produced. After the war they like the US went with the German jet engines. The first operational jet powerd fighters were the Messerschmitt Me 262 and by the end of the war the Germans had 3 operating jet plane's including a jet bomber " Arado Ar 234"if they had the fuel we would probably be speaking German right now lol.
I'm a big history buff.
I do agree that isn't a real Remington. Coffee seems we have more in common than our love of knives.

German pilots flying the Me-262 shot down more than 500 allied planes. The Germans biggest problem was keeping the things repaired and in the air--the materials used in the engines were less-than-ideal.

The Me 163 had some problems on the ground due to the fuels used: there really wasn't a truly "safe" way to fuel it with the technology of the day.
