I got a Beaver Tail Toothpick today, and added it to my 'sir-prizes' from Monk and Junebug. The GEC Toothpicks are just the right size to fit my paws. ::nod::

::tu:: Great color on that bloodwood. I've had an itch to get something in BW for quite awhile. I'd love to see it on an 85, 73, or 54. ::pray:: ::nod::

(If GEC is looking/reading... the world needs 54 a big jack in bloodwood. And ebony and bocote, now that I think on it. If not a big jack, a furtaker trapper. :) )

Robert -- I'm not quite sure what to make of that one either.

Thanks guys!

Still can't quite capture the iridescence in the grain … Ryan, you've got lots of wood grain photo experience, any ideas?

I've got a Kauri wood 53 that looks great in person, but any pics I take (all angles, specular light, ambient light, lightbox, sunlight, moonlight) just leave it looking "flat" and unremarkable …

I know what ya mean.. ::hmm:: I try to take my photos in the evenings when the sun is starting to go down, I think that yields the best results. You get too much reflection off of the bolsters/end caps in direct sunlight, does not make for a good pic. Also you could try lighter/darker background. It all depends on the wood on the knife. Perhaps a lighter background for a darker knife and vise versa. It makes the knife really stand out. I think outdoors really makes a knife pop in a picture... ::hmm:: I'm guessing my pics must be coming out ok then...? ::shrug:: I must be doing something right. ::smirk::

My new baby!! Just received it a couple days ago - a genuine TC Barlow in red bone with spear point. :)

It's beautiful and a wonderful tribute to the classic Barlow thanks to the hard work and expert input from Barlow collector and connoisseur Charlie Campagna. This is my only Barlow and I'm proud to own and carry it. This will be a user, not a safe queen.

The leather pocket sheath is a wonderful gift from our very own Jon_Slider here on the Forum. Thank you Jon!! :) The Barlow fits it perfectly and will protect it from change and assorted debris in my pocket.

PS: Yes there's now a Barlow in this man's pocket... (One step closer to Charlie's definition of Utopia!)
