Cattaraugus questions

I have a Cattaraugus 3 blade bone handled cattle knife #32209 and have a few questions.

1) How can you tell the date by the stamping? It is the Little Valley NY stamping and assume it was made after 1890 and before 1963. Is there any way to narrow it down by the stamping?
2) What are the blade types? Is it lamb foot for the main blade, sheep foot for the medium blade, & ? for the small blade?
3) Is this what is called green bone?

I love this knife. Almost tried to sell it then backed out because I like it too much.

It started out as jigged bone, now it is worn smooth.

The master was a Spear, secondary a Sheepfoot and the other a pen blade.

According to Goins, Cattaraugus started up in 1886 and closed in 1963. I doubt there is any way to pin down the date of production any closer than that.
No, not green bone just extremely pocket worn bone that was likely jigged. I don't think green bone was ever a factor in Catt production.

Rex, not sure on the date. But that is sure a beautiful knife. Would love for it to tell its story. Who owned it, what they did with it, where its been.

The specifics may be hard to find, but know that your knife is admired.

Here are a couple of 32209 patterns with different blades. First is a 32206G with ebony handles, a spear, spey blade and punch. Second is a 32209SG with worm grooved bone handles, spear, spey and punch.

Thanks everyone for the info. It does look as though it still has some jigging to it right by the shield. I kind of like the worn look. Wish the blades were a bit fuller. Regardless it's now one of my EDC rotation knives.

I have to ask the question, since nobody else did.

Is that really a liner lock on the bone handled 32209SG? In nickel-silver? Or is that something it's sitting on?

My eyes must be going bad. But it's a really nice Catt, with a punch, too! I would put at least $200 on it, but you probably couldn't get that on Ebay today. Still, it's gorgeous.
