NICE Ulster Lyle!! I particularly like the big crest shield, bone handles, etc.............................heck, I just like it all.
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Again, thanks Jerry I need all the help I can get acquiring these.(All who can help are appreciated)

Roger and John my humble thanks,it's fun to share.

John here's some of the horn covered farmer solo. She has a couple blemishes, but that doesn't detract from the beauty of those horn covers. They may be my favorite horn covers of all time!

I suspect her parts are all pre WWII,even the covers, which most Lockwoods I have seen have newer covers(I think??),although the parts are original factory. She has that golden age patina all over.

Another Lockwood(one of the 4 pictured above, not listed individually). It is stag with the rounded bolster, instead of the squared look. Both are rat tailed,as was common on most all these in early farmers jacks. There are a few exceptions. The only two I have are IXLs( I forgot I have a Cattaraugus),but I've see NYKs,Cat,Saynors, and J Rodgers. The Cat is pictured inthe 1st page of this thread. It has a different frame.

Bret & I had the pleasure of meeting Lyle & seeing many of these knives in person this weekend! It was awesome to see that many rooster combs at one time. Thanks, Lyle!

I posted this one in the Horticultural Knives thread because of the relativity it had with the previous posts there.I think it belongs with it's relatives here though.

I finally got around to posting this one that a friend of mine in Europe found for me. Ich bin Ihnen sehr dankbar.

I call it a French farmers jack. I t measures right at 4" and has a fierce pruner blade, and a mighty sheepsfoot? Stephan Theirs stamped on blade with P.T.T.73 on tang ????Any guesses or info on P.T.T.73
