Camillus Question

Post by SFC ADP »

Today I just received a NKCA 1988 Camillus Jumbo Trapper.
I am somewhat disappointed with the knife, as one of the handles is coming off, As you lift up on the scale you can see none of the pins go through the liner, when you look inside it appears no pins at all attach the scales to the liners. The only thing I see holding the scales on is the lanyard hole. The other side is on, but it looks like a heavy epoxy may have been used to attach it. The shield is upside down as well, which being a round shield I figured this could be very possible. The Main blade is laser etched with the NKCA logo and 1988.
The pattern is pretty much the same as the Great Eastern knives made currently.
Here are my questions:
1. Does anyone else have a 1988 NKCA Camillus to post pics of so I can compare? And can they look inside the liners to see if the pins go to the liners as well?
2. Anyone interested in doing repair work to attach the scales to the liners? (agteacher or muskrat man maybe :D )?

Attached is the e-bay pics of the knife I got.
