Ec simmons

Post by 0078 »

I seen a knife at a antique store marked ec simmons St. Louis, there was no markings of keen kutter. Has any one seen one like this, is it real fake? Year of tang stamp. Thanks for any information.

I probably could, what do you think the year might be? Could not find a whole lot on the web.

Do you know why it would not have the keen kutter stamp?

I can only speculate. Simmons used Keen Kutter from the start so I can only assume that they used Simmons, minus Keen Kutter, for a second line of knives. Maybe some of the other guys who are more familiar with Keen Kutter and such might have better info.

I have a couple marked like "that knife" one has Keen Kutter on
the lower bolster the other a trace of a Keen Kutter etch. The knife
is probably old. If it is nice and priced right might be a good deal.
Check the master blade carefully it might have a trace of etch.

I got a barlow just marked simmons.
I posted questions about it a while ago.
