I usually carry 2 knives but until I find another nice clip knife I have just been carrying one. I usually like high carbon steel for serious cutting chores but I have finally found a stainless steel that is passing the test. From the same makers mark as much of my favorite high carbon steel knives Eye Brand or German Eye makes a great stainless blade. This knife was purchased used and already sharpened by stone. I used it for quite some time before taking it to the paper wheel to see how the edge would straighten up. 10 seconds later WOWIE! This thing was hair popping sharp again and I was on my way to being sold on their stainless. I use it mostly for cutting cardboard, tape and plastic with tape and plastic being a couple of the worst things for keeping a sharp edge. I have been using it daily for almost 3 months and have only had to strop it on the paper wheel 3 times so I have to say that the blade edge retention is excellent. It looks like I will have to wait a while longer to see how it takes a new edge. ::super_happy::

Mr. Rick, Do you have any idea what the "O" on the tang stamp indicates? Traded for several Kutmasters lately and one has the "O" on the bottom line, to the right of the USA like the one you posted.

Trying out this US made 2nd today. Very square edges, not really very pocket friendly but the price was right. :)

No, I don't know, but I just checked and the other I have has U.S.A. centered under Utica, N. Y. and no "O". ::shrug::

I have had this Trapperlock sitting in its box for a long time.
I took it out the other day, been in my pocket ever since.

I ordered 3 different types of horn scales.
Honey buffalo, black buffalo, and black with white streaks.
Going to try and re-handle this trapperlock.
I hope it comes out well.

I've been thinking about a case trapper lock for awhile. Does the blade open easily with the thumb stud?

It does. In fact if you snap your wrist, it will fly open, with out touching the blade at all
There is no walk or talk as they say, it is an easy open.
In NY you can't carry gravitational knives, Kind of makes me think twice.
I have no reason to ever be frisked so I am not going to worry about it.
It's not like it's a leverlock or button release.
You do have to give it a good flick to open it, but it will.

I'll be carrying this Kershaw Chubby for a while in memory of my friend johnnierotten who passed today. ::tear::
Johnnie bombed me this knife a while back and I feel it's appropriate to carry it in his memory.
RIP my brother.
