The firearm I miss the most is the M-14. I almost bought an M-1A when I retired and sold my house but decided at the time it would just sit in the gun cabinet and never get shot so I decided not to. It was the right decision but I still get a yearning.

Morter? Who's going to carry the base plate? Ya need an entire squad for one of those darned things.

M-1A is the civilian made verson of the M-14, made by Springfield Armory. The term "M1A" is a proprietary title for Springfield Armory's M-14 pattern rifle.

Jerry is right, too much freaking work!
One guy 'humps', (grunt speak for carrys), the tube, one guy humps the base plate, and everyone humps a couple rounds if you are expecting heavy contact; so add another 20 lbs to your already 170+ lb pack!
They are nice to have on your side, but not fun to have get them to where youre gonna' need them!
