Question on dog head knife

Post by bigden »

I have a odd question.I had a chance to buy a stag handled knife that had a brass dog head used for the pommel.Did ka-bar make straight knives like these? To me it looked like the ka-bar dog head. What would be the value of one if indeed it is a Ka-bar? Thanks Dennis

Dennis,

It's hard to say without seeing a picture, there are a lot of Kabar dog head reproductions that are nice but not as valuable as the originals. I personally really like the reproductions dog heads and hope to pick up one or two eventually..

did i misunderstand. are you talking about a doghead shield or the pommel in the shape of a dog?
