Knife does appear to be authentic. As stated in the description it has been cleaned. Don't know how much you're paying for the box, however, the seller is inviting you to pay less than asking and if I were you and wanted the knife I would accommodate him.

I believe that the knife is original although the skinning blade appears to be a little narrow . The asking price is fair , but you should make an offer rather than hitting the "buy it now button" (you can always negotiate) .

Hi Rex! You really need to see the other items that your E-bay seller has. These are only "old-stock" re-makes of classic antique models from 2007 and such. That is CASEXX USA 5X, 4X, 3X series only about $35 each. Look at the sellers' other items and see for yourself. The terminology used is deceiving for sure! According to facts CASEXX brand marking first began in 1940. Markings on the knife only read "CASE TESTED" from 1920 to 1940. I like alots of brands. Case is not my best subject so bear with me. Hope I helped! Be careful of E-bay, full of "snake-in-the-grass".

Thanks Colonel. Yeah. Kind of a strange feeling about this one and that's why I haven't pulled the trigger. I think it's probably worth more than $35 but not sure if it's worth $400+.

Of course the ones in the know might be the ones with the offers.

Rex,The guy states it`s been cleaned.99% of the time that means it`s been buffed.In my opinion it`s FAR from mint.Not even close.Just because it shines doesn`t mean it`s new(mint).

Definitely authentic, beautiful, buffed, and with some wear. I would like to have it, but won't be bidding on it.
