Queen Open House?

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

Queen Open House?

Post by vikingdog »

Does anyone know if Queen will have an open house this July as in previous years? They used to do it every other year I believe and it was the same weekend as the GEC open house.

Thank you! I was hoping the factory tour wouldn't be on Thursday only. I could never figure that out. ::shrug::

According to David Clark's note, I believe the open house - the factory tour - is ONLY on Thursday, as it has always been. Queen Collectors events and Sale are Friday and Saturday.

I don't know why it is has been on Thursday, though I can see why you would want to limit a bunch of gawkers lose in a plant with lots of whirring machines. I am surprised the plant tour is still available - you'd think new insurance underwriter/ownership and that risk is history.

I am pleased that the Collectors Club and Queen have again collaborated on adding this very interesting tour to the Queen Collectors show. It is a rare opportunity to see knives made by hand.

I will also say that for the past several events the Queen show has attracted some very good Queen collections - lots of very nice knives to see and maybe buy.
