Who Made The "Buster Brown" Line of Knives?

Pictures to follow if this discussion goes anywhere, but.........I just acquired an old Buster Brown (the shoe company) scout type knife. The shield clearly tells who the knife was made for, but there are no tang markings. It also has a cap lifter and can opener. The can opener is identical in every respect to one on an old Kent Scout Knife I have. Did Kent make the Buster Brown Knives or were there multiple makers? It's a knife I've just never held or studied before, so any info will help. Thanks!

I have one Bob. It is a "Brown bilt Shoes" utility camper that was made by Imperial with the PROVIDENCE R.I. stamp. Brown bilt Shoes was the parent company of "Buster Brown".

This one has no hint of a tang stamp and I see that the can opener is different as well. I've put a rectangle around the can opener in the closed position and so far, the only other one I've found that is the same has been from a Kent Scout. This is what makes me think they used different knife companies to make these knives.

I'm sure that other knife makers made the Buster Brown's. I think that Welderbob collects the Buster Brown knives, and he might be able to give you some information. The can opener on your knife would place it earlier than my knife. The main blade profile looks very close to my Imperial.

This one ,I have, is 3 3/8 & has IKCo. on the tang ???

Bob, I have an old arched stamp Colonial scout with a very similar can opener. I guess that style can opener was used by a couple different companies. Is that a standard nail nick or a LP style?

Not sure if this helps any but I thought I would throw it into the mix.

The one I have is a long pull. I see what you mean about the can opener, but it makes me wonder who owned what brands at the time. Wouldn't a can opener shape be something a knife company would get a patent on? I know that Case did on theirs. Just cusious about these old BB knives now that I've stumbled across one. Anymore input? Please.
