Schatt & Morgan Stag Cotton Sampler
Looking to either buy or trade for a S&M Cotton Sampler. I've never seen one up close, but is it a true cotton sampler blade. I see that the Tony Bose model has a swedge near the tang.

I have read that the swedge was used as leverage when cutting the cotton sample out of the bail...I don't know for sure but I think that this Schatt & Morgan sampler that Johnnie has shown is the latest version of this model or a more modern version. I have never seen this styling on any of the original knives..
I still like it though..

Here is a vintage cotton sampler I just found that looks exactly like the stag S&M sampler..

Jim,
We will find you one, they have really moved into a collectable niche lately and seem to be in high demand. That stag S&M is getting harder to find and afford
but they still come up. They have that version in a corn cob jigged orange handle as well, but in my opinion the stag is light years ahead..
