Any one seen one like this

This knife opens when the blade is pointed down and closes the opposite. (Imperial)

Yep, I've got one just like it. Called a trick or magic knife.

Imperial made knives like that for a long time. It was a good locking mechanism to keep the knife from opening in your pocket. I'm not sure who all else made them like that.

german eye brand had a model like this. actually a fine little knife of which paladin was very familiar.---HiPower

What I need to know is if anyone ever figured out how to punch that little ball bearing back in there? I opened my first one with a pair of pliers!!
Somehow, that rascal manages to bring it up ever time he gets a chance.

I picked one up like this today at a yard sale. My son & I had a great time trying to figure out how to open it. Finally got it open and found out it is in mint condition. Probably because no-one was able to open it to use it. Going in my collection.

I doubt that they were made for cutting, though I guess you could, but more as a novelty. ::tu::
