Which current production Barlow do you recommend for a hard use, do-it-all EDC?
It must be small for pocket carry and as Classical as possible because they were the best. ( And carbon steel, of course. Nowadays this tends to narrow the scope.)
I thought of a Russell, because I read that Russells were the first, but I'm open to suggestions including materials, and number and pattern of blades.
Thanks.
Which Barlow?

You could probably pick up a good Schrade off ebay fairly reasonable.
Some of the Case folks could probably tell you if Case makes a carbon steel version currently.
I have one of the Russell's made in Germany that seems to be a decent knife, though I haven't used it.

I just saw it on Groups MSN, Bamafatman; too bad its not a Schrade because I jumped on Orvet and Justold's recommendation and decided on a USA Schrade.
Unfortunately, I can't just order one online. I have to go through the Ebay rigmarole with its risks, especially for a knife doofus like myself.
But I got the answer to my question in double quick time, so thanks for taking the time guys.
Orvet, if I had noticed your avatar earlier, I would not have needed to ask the question.
