It's a little after 2am and I just can't get to sleep so I broke out my lap top and started surfing ebay. When I went to Buck knives I found pages of ship from China knives that were fake. I mean they weren't even Buck paterns

Well it did say NEW design but then the blade is stamped 2008 so I'm confused. I thought ebay was supposed to put a stop to knock offs but I assume this is only If reported. Who knows, Buck might be alright with it. As long as it passes Buck's QC they have the power to report or hire them on... Hmmmm,they would be saving money on both ends. Might be a good way to get around some import fees and taxes too... Naaaaa those aren't ours Mr. Customs Officer ... Danged Chinese knockoffs. Surely not, Right? RIGHT?

I would not make such an accusation with no proof to back it up. Doing so is irresponsible and also possibly slanderous.

Actually I was just joking (can I get a woot without seeming so serious?) .... I ASSume Buck would take care of this if they were actually fakes since they are one of the few USA knife companies not totally sold out to China. But then again in my house of mirrors way of looking at infinite possibilities maybe there was truth in there somewhere... At least as a possibility. NO SLANDER HERE YOUR HONOR .......... It's all in the wording .. My apologies go out to Mr.Buck and the Buck family and Friends both Chinese and American if offense was taken for acknowledging you in the realm of infinite potential not to mention any of my jokes. Yep, Many times I've wished I could delete my comments on forums. Advice for understanding where I'm coming from: Assume everything I say is meant to come across in a joking manner (please) I have gotten in trouble many times in the presence of people or have been mistaken rather for similar due to long hours learning to master the art of the straight faced joke. This comes across even worse in forums or letters but it's a bit harder to take a swing at me.

Sounds like my problem. I'm the class clown that never grew up and in person, my humor is so dry, people don't know I'm trying to be funny. It's even worse on line because the written word is very unforgiving and no one can tell when I'm serious and when I'm trying to be funny. It's best to always assume I'm trying to be funny. Thank God for all these damn smiley faces.

You would think that I would have mastered the art of knowing a straight faced joke as well but I guess I have a certain amount of tunnel vision. I have cracked up at some of your humor Jerry but now that I know unless you are giving up certain knife knowledge that I should take what you say as humorous I think I will understand you better Whew... Long sentence. I also understand that this site is for people to learn about pocketknives so I really really really try to not make light of it or seem like a smarty pants.

Oh I almost forget, What shearer said I believe is correct. They are playing the dumb card and selling it as a Buck but the knife DOES NOT SAY BUCK anywhere on it. Thanks for pointing that out...

If your looking for a fake Buck that has the name on the blade then here it is. There is a wave of counterfeit Buck knives coming out of China. Most of them aren't even close to anything Buck has made.

wazu013.The knife you posted just had Buck on it and is listed as a BUCK Fixed Blade Survival Tool .They say the brand is Buck but in their listing they don't put Buck Knives.
Cutty.They use Buck USA because they can get away with it.
They could stop them using their trade mark on the box
I looked under Trade Marks and Designs and Buck Knives is the registered name of the USA company.
