Thank you thawk for showing that knife.
For want of a name for you knife; for now,
I am going to use it, into my research into the 2002-2003 Schrade Classics and specials.
Your knife is the key to my research, because it has that 2002 etch on the blade.
Your knife is one of 25 knives I am looking at.
I am waiting for some knives from the U.S. before I start a forum, on these bone handled knives …Ken

Schrade Walden - Sailors/riggers knife (#735-ST).

Hi Old Mate, I had the set in the case. The other set came in brown boxes. They came in the mail today.
Check these out, I only got them out today for a line-up. I have never seen them like this before.

Cal, that's a beauty of a cattle knife!!
Herman's really got that peachseed jigging down, doesn't he? I believe he's actually using one of the old Schrade bone cutting fixtures to achieve that. Hopefully he keeps his fingers out of the way!

I haven't got a clue as to what it looks like. I think Alex at the shop has one as well, I'll have to ask him if he can bring it in so I can snap some pics. Pretty curious myself!

I finally pulled the trigger on a Herman Williams Schrade. Stag 98OT off the bay from, I believe, one of our members here.
And a Prototype or Salesman's Sample from another member's store.

Re: My latest Schrade
It's hard to believe no one's picked up a new Schrade in over a month. Oh well, I'll break the ice.
Cut and paste from the Mail Call thread (since I'm lazy).
The mail carrier brought this one yesterday. Schrade Silhouette SQ432, it was made to commemorate the Illinois State Police in 2004 and it's serialized with #0177. Seller (Reeds Classic Knives in S. Illinois) said, "Each knife is serialized only 350 produced".
It's a sturdy knife with aluminum handles, bronze blade pivot bushings and a rather sleek shape. The only objection I have to it is, even though it locks up solid, opening and closing the knife has a kind of loosey goosey, tinny feel to it. It's a strange feeling for a knife that's this well built. Maybe I get that feeling because the blade deploys so smoothly.

This is from 2010, when I shipped one of those knives to Australia.garddogg56 wrote:Jerry, never seen one like that ,
A friend then tried to ship 50 of them, (at $8 each) and was stopped by Australian Customs.
Most of these Schrade knives; past under some Collector’s radar.

Jerry,
You can tighten the blade with the pivert bolt, the same knife Taylor had made in China is very poorly made.
I pulled a number of the Schrade and Taylor look-a-like knives down, to see the diferance....
I'v had this set for a wile, and posted on the Gallery...Ken

Re: My latest Schrade
The prototype appears to be an acid etch done by hand by Frank Giorgianni Sr.mumblypeg wrote:I finally pulled the trigger on a Herman Williams Schrade. Stag 98OT off the bay from, I believe, one of our members here.

Frank did most of the animal & bird scenes for the Schrade, but he also did acid etches such as on that blade.
Was there any paper that came with it, such as a COA?
It is great to have original work by such a noted artist!
The Herman Williams is excellent, as they always are!
