G.C. & Co Great find!

I won an eBay auction for some guy's grandfather's possibles bag. It said that "everything in it is as is". Dang, it was full of neat stuff... ball starter with antler handle, etc. and strapped to the carrying strap was this knife.
It reads, G.C. & Co. Mora, Sweden and 501 (blade style?)

It is super sharp and is probably carbon steel. Used as a patch knife?

Definitely a patch knife, especially if it was strapped to the carrying strap for easy access, very nice!

I think G.C. & Co. may be related somehow to Frost Cutlery in the early days. Can't find much on them except that most of the '504' ones were of different handle material. Couldn't find one with the staghorn so now I'm thinking the original owner changed it himself. Good job if he did... it is very tight. I can see saw marks on the butt.
