There are so many kinds of wood, and different grain types and colors, there must be a thousand reasons wood is my favorite handle material. You all have been showing a great variety, cherry wood, lace wood, different burls and ebonys - the list could go on all night!

Think this is my oldest Cattaraugus. Old wood handles and a straight line tang stamp. Any opinions?

Nice ones Rick, Jacknifeben, Wosey, Mike B,... some fine lookin' specimens you all are posting up!
Here's a Robeson Shuredge, handle material is Robeson's "Shurwood"...which according to my research "is a compressed composite material made of multiple layers of wood, perhaps rosewood, and a phenolic resin."
I like the looks of it anyway...

Here's a Ken Coats Custom I had made for my sons graduation from collage.

The Cherry Burl handle was made from a piece of wood he harvested as a young boy from our hunting property.
