Possible Nazi pocket knife?

I recently did a house clearance and came across an interesting pocket knife. I recognise it as a rigging/naval pocket knife (a single broad blade, a can opener and a large Marlin spike). It has no markings on the grips or blade but the side of the spike has a couple of stamps.

The first is close to the hinge. it appears to be the letter H with an Iron Cross either side. A little way down the spike there are two letters stamped in. It looks like "P R" but it has been worn away and isnt very clear.

I will try and get some pics up for you guys to see, I was more intrigued by the Iron Cross looking symbols and the fact it is clearly a very old knife.

It looks identical to a replica Italian Navy Rigging knife except for the stamps.

Here is a thought, it could be older than WW II.
I think the Kaiser used the Iron Cross symbol a lot in WW I.

Camillus made some mariner's knives in WW I for the Canadian Navy & IIRC they were used somewhere in the US as well, but as I remember it was someone other than the US Navy.

Just realised you couldnt fully see the stamp I was talking about when the spike was fully open. Took another with it a bit more visable. Hope it helps

Welcome onboard. The knife is a similar pattern to the WWII British Army knife. What are the dimensions of the knife please? The marks are not recognisable but appear to be an approximation of the Joseph Rodgers star and cross. Any stamps on the blades? s-k

Recently I answered a post that was asking about possible German cross markings on a sailors marlin spike pocketknife. Mistakenly I said Butcher Brothers from Sheffield. Actually I meant to write Rodgers of Sheffield. Sorry, the whole post was censored before I could print this rebuttle. Censorship is not exactly fair to forum participants who need many leads and possible clues to ID rare items. It can take a longer time to be exact so it is better for administrators to be patient and let us help as best we are able. I'd say that is an Asian made knife in the style of a British WWII army knife.
