schrade copenhagen rare knife Q

Post by idabrv47 »

Copenhagen schrade knife with display case. The blade is blued. I won this about 18 years ago at the sportsmans show. The gentleman that called me to tell me I won said that there were only 50 that were given away in the drawing at the shows in the US. None of them were for sale from the manufacturers. The other 4 were given to the CEO's. A year after I got the knife I decided to put it on ebay with a reserve, the bids went up to $5 below the reserve so I kept it and put it away. I just want to so what the value is at this point. I have not seen one like this while looking on the internet. Thanks for your help.

With so few of them in existence, it's not very likely there have been enough of them change hands recently to establish a market value. I'm curious to know what you set as a reserve on that knife when you put it up for sale and how you decided what amount to set.

By the way, welcome to AAPK. ::welcome::

I set the reserve at $250 17 years ago the final bid was $245 so I just kept it in the box and put it away..just did some spring cleaning and found it again.

I'm not a Schrade collector,

But isn't this the same knife as described on BF?

COPE7 - Event enhancement knife, LB-7 pattern, smooth black Delrin handle, brass bolsters, blued 24k gold "Copenhagen" blade etch, antiqued brass coined shield, black plain sheath, Ship 1/2/95 - 500 pcs.

Tim, that seems pretty close to that post, it could have been 500 pcs but the only difference is that mine came with a cherry wood display case. Maybe that was just a promo right from copenhagen? I'm not sure.
Grant, I'll check it to see if the us a serial number on it, I have a plain jane schrade with a serial number on the top side by the blade. I carry that one all the time.
That you all for the help, I'm pretty new to this knife forum, I'm usually dealing with firearms forum. I know more about guns tha n I do about knives. :D
