lookingfor some info on ric-nor. I picked up a hawkbill the other day with this stamp. I'm looking for origin, dates, and any information ya'll might be able to dig up for me

all i can find is they were owned by prov. cutlery. out of boston.

thanks Johnnie, so it's basicvally colonial made, bears strong resembalance to thier fit and finish. I think this ones needs a new life

Providence Cutlery of Providence RI was not a brand made by Colonial but was a different company that also made knives. I have never found out any info about the RIC-NOR brand otheer than the knives were made by Prov Cut Co.

Ah, but they are indeed connected! Providence Cutlery was originally owned and operated by two of the Paolantino brothers, founders of Colonial Cutlery.

RIC-NOR wasn't owned by Providence Cutlery. It seems to have been some sort of electrical supply house in Boston. Providence Cutlery was apparently contracted to make knives for them. Thats why the knives are marked Boston despite the fact that Providence Cutlery is in RI.
