ka-bar 0071

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

If you can take pics of the tang,I can help with the date for you but not much more on that brand.Great looking knife. If you can't git one of the tang then type it out just as it is.

Cato, what is the length of that knife, both closed and open? Can you tell if the blade is stainless or not? I like the way it looks, may need to add it to my "watch for" list . . . .

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks Cato! The size sounds real good, I'll have to keep an eye out for one.

I don't know much about K-Bar other than the made great knives. That tang stamp was used from 1923 to 1951 but that knife don't look that old to me.They made limited-edition knives in the 70s with the old stamps.Look on the inner liners it may have a date stamp their. It should say 1977 if I'm right.Either way you have a great knife.
