Welcome Brianss1 to the forum you have some of the most friendly people around here that are very knowledgable in knife collecting. As for the 64047 being better than any of the other knives you mentioned it is in the eye of the owner (I think) or collector I should say, that makes it special to that person. All Case Knives are great, but I do happen to collect the stockman and trapper patterns by Case. ::tu:: The 64047 should be a 4 blade stockman 3 7/8" long. It is on the rare side, good start to a collection. ::tu::

Brianss1,

I hate to leave an enthusiastic poster hanging here, so I'll take a shot at the first grouping.

I don't know how small is small, but they look to be 3" or under, so I'll loosely group them for you as "Boy's Knives"....as it looks like they all had a bail/shackle, and just maybe even a small chain, at one time. These knives have been made for well over a hundred years, and are still made today...albeit in much fewer numbers because of today's laws in and around schools and the like. Old guys like me think this is a shame, as many of us have carried pocketknives for 40-50 years, but that's another story.

What do the various stamps read exactly? These look like Imperial, Colonial, or maybe Novelty Knife Co. The second one appears to be a bowling pin novelty type knife (not necessarily made by Novelty knife). 1st and 3rd could be shell handled knives (inexpensive one piece bolsters and liners with thin scales)...or maybe not, as it's hard to guess just from the picture, unfortunately. The last knife looks to be a little higher in construction quality than the others, maybe made by a different company...or at least at a higher price point? It also appears to have another blade that may open at the end with the schackle. If so, I wouldn't call it a jack, like the others. But, all of them are nice and fun to collect at very reasonable prices.

All of this is JMO, from one picture...and could be miles off base. Maybe a little more information, as I mentioned, and others (wake up out there  ) will chime in here.

Ok Brian,

Hammer was a brand purchased and used on many Imperial knives beginning in 1936, until near the end and subsequent demise of Imperial Schrade in 2004.
From the picture, I'm going to say that the "Pearl" knife is probably pearlized celluloid... it would be unlikely to put real pearl on a knife in that price point. And, after a closer look, I can now see it has 2 blades, as you have said. (I shoulda caught that). It would still be a Jack pattern, as the blades open from the same end.
I believe most Remingtons stamped Germany or Japan, were made after 1970.

Hope that helps a little bit.
