As my recollection goes the 112 was introduced when a problem developed with selling the 110 on ships. Somewhere in the early 70's some good old boy's got into a disagreement aboard the USS Ranger CVA 61. They were using Buck 110's purchased at the ships store. This resulted in the 110 being banished from selling aboard ship and the Buck Corp. came up with the 112 with a smaller blade that fit the parameters for sale on the ship. It of course was the 112 Ranger named for it's reason, the fight on the Ranger. Can or do any of you avid Buck Collectors recall the story or any further particulars or is it just a fable that has been manufactured in my mind.
