Italian sportsman with interesting shell extractor

Here is an Italian sportsman model from around the late 1950s with an unusual shotgun shell extractor. Shell extractors were fairly common on German, French, and Italian knives from the late 1800s onward, but were usually found in the form of a folding curved blade or claw. Also common was a claw built into the front or rear bolster of a knife. The articulated folding shell extractor on this model was not common and certainly took more time and cost to produce. It does expand and contract to fit most any size shotgun shell. This well made knife has a lock back main blade, horn handles, stainless blades, and nickel silver bolsters and bail.

They seem to have made very high quality knives, I have another one somewhere, very large with the shell extractor bolsters, horn handles and still in it`s original box!
