Thinning out the blade of my Buck Ecolite 112/442 worked so well, I screwed up the courage to flatten out the grind of my Buck 500. Roughly from my junky calipers, the blade now tapers down from 2mm to 1mm at the tip and is about 1.3mm through the main part of the blade. My Opinel #9, which slices like nobody's business, is about 1mm. The 500 now slices almost as well as the Opinel. Huge improvement. Extra bonus, the grinding has produced a nice curve to the flat portion and it makes blade look better than original in my eyes. Here's the original. Will get around to taking new pictures at some point.

Here's my current EDCs for work, on the farm and around town. The Case Tested Office Knife Muskrat Man rehandled for me goes to work everyday in a black velvet Frost Family pouch. The titanium coated United Tailwind and the Marbles Workman's knives, with paracord lanyards my sister made, get a good workout on the farm. The Benchmade 830 in ATS-34 is my around town knife and man does it hold an edge.

Carried this old Camillus "pawn-shop find" yesterday - it has some great steel and great snap to be so old - going to carry it again today. OH

Today it was the queen of cutlery! Case XX 6375.

Tomorrow I'm having trouble deciding, Western 742 or Schrade Walden 895. Both came in a trade with Junebug, and both two of my all time favorites. Maybe I'll just pack em both!

Thanks Rider! That is the Tidioute Boy's Knife... got that right around Christmas. It was building up a really nice natural patina till I dribbled acid on the blade by accident the other day. Couldn't stand the jet black on the natural patina so I forced the rest of it black with acid.

Like the way you guys roll! ::nod:: ::tu::

I've been reviewing this Camillus VG10 for the past few weeks, so it's been clamped onto the lip of my pocket.

Then, I'll be toting the Tidioute EO Sunfish today so I can display it to my cigar smoking pal!

Scott, very nice Sunfish, is it a current model? I normally don't care for knives that are so wide, but your Tidioute Sunfish looks well proportioned. OH

Very well proportioned ......just the right amount of cutting area, with plenty to sharpen.
I did just complete a review on 'er.....

Put on a pair of holey "work on the car" jeans today. Had to make a run for brake pads etc.
When I grabbed my wallet I also grabbed my Case Humpback.
I haven't been able to get GEC 1095 quite as sharp as this Case CV!
