Is this a real Case Tested XX 1914 - 1920 knife?

I have spent hours searching, scrutinizing, digging and can't find anything (usually that means it's a fake...at least it did the last 2 times I searched high and low for something).

On the markside main blade tang I can read:
CASE
Bradford

Opposite side, I am getting
R5230, R8230, R5230......P5230, P8230.....
I know the "230" is clear...that I got. So I searched for every combination that includes"230" and found nah-dah.

On the pen blade....it's clear to read the CASE XX TESTED in the oval. That part is easy.....

Any help would be appreciated.

Scott, I think the knife is ok. The Bradford and the oval are good.
Do you save your Knife World Magazines? If so Feb 2010 shows
some good info.

Yes that knife is fine. A rare one in those handles. 30 pattern is a 3-1/4" equal end cigar. That knife is a P230 or 0P230. P stands for Pyralin handles (celluloid). A genuine older Case knife. A nice one.

Stockman - Unfortunately I don't receive Knife World Magazine

Knifeaholic - There is a digit between the P and 230 and it looks like a 5, or an S or a 9, but there is definitely another digit there!

Could the first character be a "0"?

In bone handles that would be a 06230.

If you click on the pic, and then enlarge it with the microscope the entire item# appears to be P3230. Of course that doesn't make sense in the CASE pattern numbering system....

The only "0" I see Steve, is at the end.
