Original Pine Knot or "not"
I am not saying something is wrong, but am questioning.I don't know enough about this brand.

Just something about the handles not matching the blades, but it's hard to tell with the coloration. I thought this, then read Voyles and Parker 1976 description of this brand as being handled with bone ,redwood ,and celluloid.

Here's a comparison, Authentic vs Fake.

I know that SMKW used it in the 90's on some stockmans made by Colonial.philco wrote:Did someone (maybe Smoky Mountain Knife Works) resurect the Pine Knot brand two or three years ago ?
The posted knife is a fake plain and simple not a modern repro.

Re: Original Pine Knot or "not"
Here's some bad pictures of a 4" Pine Knot I bought from SMKW back in the 90s. It seems like a Colonial Steve mentioned.
Pretty solid knife.

Joe -- I think you're the first I've seen photograph their knife in the sink.

You know you're getting older when the 90s seem like "two or three years ago".

Re: Original Pine Knot or "not"
Jerry, I know that's pretty strange, eh. Actually, the location wasn't the sink really. I'm kind of like a moth, I was drawn by the light; the durn sink just happened to be there.
Can I get a better picture of that rat tail bolster Pine Knot?
Looks like a nice congress.

Re: Original Pine Knot or "not"
That's very true. My dog had a litter of German Shepherd mix puppies and I ran an add in local newspaper, "Free to a good home", not one single taker. Relisted them at $25 each and sold them all. Re: Original Pine Knot or "not"
Same thing with me, I had an ad in the paper for a set of truck tires on rims, free to whoever comes get them. Ran it 3 times and never got a call. Put it in for $10 a piece, and someone came and got them the same day.
Another time I had a push mower out front by the road with a free sign, no one even stopped. I put a cardboard sign that said $25, and when I got home from the store one day someone had stole it.
