Whats your newest addition to your Buck family and why?

Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the infamous Model 110 Folding Hunter. The company's innovative history and attention to quality have made for many great collectible knives.

I also have bought 3 110 Folding Hunter's (2 .110. and 1 Idaho) and a 425 lockback. My son bought a Cami 301 and the other .110. Folding Hunter that an antique dealer was selling. A collector client was going into hospice. Just trying to hold up my end 8) .

DiamondTim, great to have another Buck fan posting on this forum - welcome! Congrats on all those Buck knives you and your son have acquired - post some pictures here so we can enjoy them too. The 307 is on my "need to buy" list - as another AAPK member posted, "so many knives, so little money!" OH

I was given this Buck 422+ today by an old friend - he has had it in his store for over 20 years, I spotted it recently and inquired about it today - he handed it to me and said "Merry Christmas"! It has a very faded Buck box too; I cleaned it up and took this picture, very nice gift from a good man. OH

OH, I have one of the Bucklites like that somewhere. Came with a more 'fitted' black nylon sheath. Bought it when they first came out many years ago, long before I started collecting. I'll have to dig it out of retirement ::tu::

Royal, dig it out and post a picture - we would all love to see it!

Several months ago in a post in this sub-forum, Pinnah recommended that I should find a Duke (Buck 500) - he thought I would like to own one as I consider the 110/112 too thick for comfortable pocket carry. I started looking at the 500's for sale in the AAPK store and on e-bay, but I decided if I added the 500 series knives to my collection they would be constructed with Micarta handles and have Olde English tang stamps. I found this one on another knife forum and bought it from a member there last week - it came yesterday. It is every bit as nice as Pinnah described, it now joins the 501 Esquire I traded for here at AAPK last month. Now I'm on a quest to find the others in the 500 series. Merry Christmas fellow Buck collectors! OH

I just got a buck 120 for Christmas. It is the proline series that was only made for cabela's. Cabela's discontinued them not to long ago but I was sure happy with it. I thought the 119's had long blades.

Dogg, like that 121, that is one I need to get as well.

I had sworn off buying anymore new knives this month while I thought about the direction I wanted my collection to go in (Buck & Case). I was in a hardware store last week and the owner knows I like to buy knives (have bought several there before). he showed me several boxes of knives and guns he bought from an estate. This Buck was in there, new but with no nylon pouch - (amazingly enough I had a spare at home) - he offered it to me at such a deal I had to jump on it. Thank goodness it's a Buck!. OH

Here's a 2 Dot 110 that's mint in the box with it's original sheath and a custom 110 D/A auto conversion done by Wirtz Wire. They are my latest buys.

Just picked up a 1995 Buck Bronco 701 and a Joseph Rodgers pocket knife with one blade and a saw. Bought them at an estate sale. The Buck is dirty, but good shape (except for a drill hole in one of the bolsters). The Rodgers is in mint condition.

Nice 110 Auto's - seen a few in the past, never owned one - but the Buck 110 is a strong mechanism to build an auto on.

I received this Buck 503 "Prince" in today's mail - won it off e-bay earlier in the week. I have been slowly acquiring the 500 series with the Olde English block style tang stamps. Until I came across this particular 503 I thought all of the 500 series with "OE" Buck stamps also had Micarta handles - but this knife has the "OE" stamp and wood handles. Now I just need to find a nice 505 with the "OE" Buck stamp and I will be done with this small segment of Buck's. OH

Great score OH - and a great looking knife. I didn't know there were so many Buck's. I got a 303 and a 309 - both USA - at a Gun show in Dayton, OH today to add to my family.

Great knives in this thread! :D
Earlier this week I found this '78-ish Model 506, for a whopping $5.00!

It joins the Model 501 "Esquire" I received for my 14th birthday in 1978...

My Buck 311 Trapper arrived today from a gent in CT - bought the knife from him off of e-bay on Friday evening, got it in todays mail - not bad at all. Closing in on my 300 series collection, two more to go (and the 319 is on the way from CA now). Then to find a nice old Camillus/Buck 305 Lancer and I will be done (sort of). OH

Dogg, I sure like that 110FG - they really fit nicely in the hand. I need a Finger-groove 110 & 112 for my collection - BUT there is so much on the list! I will find one at a decent deal one day and snatch it up. Is yours one of the Boone and Cfrocket special issue knives - or does the shield denote another special run? OH

Ps Thanks for the compliment on my 311; I carried it Wednesday and Thursday - I like the lightness - a lot of blade in a lightweight package, but it is a tad long for my tastes - I like to keep my jeans front pocket carry knives just under 4" but at least 3-3/8" long.

This 319 Rancher arrived from Seattle yesterday. Waiting on a 305 Lancer now - that will finish up obtaining a representative sample of the Buck standard catalog 300 series knives as made by Camillus; then I have to begin work on the SMKW exclusives (non-catalog Bucks). Then there are the many special variations put out by Buck.........OH
