Heart Problems

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Heart Problems

Post by whitebuffalo58 »

My prayers go out to all those in need here. Now I find myself in need of prayer also.
About a month ago I started noticing that I was getting tired kinda easy. I just didn't feel right. Slight dizzy spells, my heart seemed to be racing and I just didn't have the energy I usually did. Come to find out, i've developed high blood preasure and my heart rate most of the time runs well over 100 bpm. The doctor has prescribed a beta blocker, but there seems to be some concern that the rapid heart rate isn't always steady. My heart skips an occasional beat and at other times it flutters rapidly. Tonight will be the first night on the meds and i'm hoping it will fix the problem. If not, I get to start dealing with "tests". We've all heard how much fun that can be.
So if ya would guys and gals, keep me in your prayers. I've always been healthy as a horse and this things got me a little worried.

Thanks,

WB

Been through all that with my wife and had the comfort of knowing that most who read the Upper Room Forum would ask the Lord to help us through. They did and HE did and we will pray for you, whitebuffalo. May the Lord bless you and your family through this time. Treefarmer

Pullin' for you, WB. It's scary at first but then they get it stabilized and you don't think about it much. Hang in there.

I really appreciate the continued support and prayers guys! So far the meds seem to be doing the trick. Preasure and pulse still a bit high, but not at such dangerous levels. Pills may help, but I believe prayer is the real key.

Thanks again,

WB

Glad to hear things are a little better for you. Good for you not putting off seeing the doc.

Between the doctor and the lord, hopefully you will be well covered.

White Buffalo! You might be developing Arterial fibulation. Those are the same symptioms that I had! I eventually had a pacemaker installed. You may not develop this but I kinda wanted to give you an fyi! My Best to you. ftd

Thanks guys!
ftd, lord I pray it doesn't come to that! Right now it's seems to be a day to day thing. I'll go a few days with everything normal, then for no apparent reason i'll have a couple of days where heart rate and blood preasure run high. I'm taking the meds as prescribed.
Doc says to check it regularly, give it another week or so and if it doesn't come under full control, they'll change meds or up the dosage on the one i'm taking. Give that another few weeks and go from there. It's all turned into that game of, "well let's try this, if that doesn't work, then let's try this". I call it, "the guinea pig syndrome".
I trust my doctor and i'm sure they're following some sort of standard procedure, but that doesn't make it any less annoying. I have faith that it's all going to work out alright, but it does keep a feller on the edge of his seat. ::skeptic::

I've had A-Fib for the last ten years. I take medication for it but my heart still goes in and out of A-Fib at will, it's just not as noticable as it first was. ::shrug::

I know what you mean, Jerry. I can always tell when it's running high, long before I even put the cuff on. Usually it starts out with kind of a dizziness and somewhat blurred vision. That's when I know it's time to take a breather and try to relax for a bit. For someone like me, that's not an easy thing to do. Atleast not in the middle of the day. ::td::

Well, stick with the witch doctors WB. If you can hang with 'em long enough, they'll eventually find something that works. Or not. ::uc::

Jerry6818, Whitebuffalo58, Do you have any fainting spells? My cardologist said that my blood pressure would drop so low that i'd pass out, This is from the a-fib sysmtoms, your heart flutters and does not pump the blood properly and this could cause a blood clot. this could also cause a stroke. I too had those sysmtems for several years. I am on wafarn blood thinner for this reason. Since I had my pacemaker put in I have not had any of those symtoms, so please keep a close eye on this ,. ftd
