tongueriver and TJ: great looking knives. There are several reasons I can think of, but regardless of cause the old bone scales most always look richer,more substantial, more impressive to me than more modern scales.

It's been waaaay too long since I've posted! Been busy on the constant hunt.

Hibbard Spencer Bartlett big 4 1/2" brown jigged bone English jack with what appear to be pop metal bolsters. This doesn't look like one of the standard hsb contract manufacturers. It almost looks German to me. If anyone could help shed some light on this one I would really appreciate it!

A Simmons Hardware Co 3 1/2" horn doctor's knife with "Keen Kutter" stamped into the pill buster end cap. Still snaps like a bear trap!
