Re: First Cup Diner!
Morning Gents! Ah, that first cup - good stuff. Got a great day coming up; after I get my wife's car serviced at 0700, I'm heading to Raleigh for the annual National Guard Retiree's Luncheon hosted by the Adjutant General - get to visit and talk with many old pards, then back east for an evening deer hunt - can't beat a day like this one! OH
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Ha HA! Slept right through it. Didn't wake up even once until 0600 and that's the first time in I don't know when. I should mark it on the calendar.philco wrote:WAKE UP JERRY!
Gonna be a good day, knife wise anyway. I have an anticipated eBay purchase that's supposed to be in today's mail delivery AND the two blade #15 GEC Huckleberry Boy's Knife just came up in the Early Bird section of CK so I pulled the trigger on one in Ebony. I'm not a wood handle guy in the least but this knife (to me) has such an early 1900 look to it, I couldn't resist.
Edit: I'm sorry. Forgot my manners. Got so excited about the knife morning, I forgot to say, Mornin' Boyz.

This month I turn 60. I spent 8 years in the US Army and 4 years in college. To date, I have never had a cup of coffee. All my caffeine comes via Diet Coke.

Trying to post a YouTube video I made of me doing a one hand open with the fabled black micarta 72.
I've posted it several times now and deleted it cuz the link was funny. The method from the tutorial didn't work for me, proly cuz I'm workin from my phone. I think I found another way. Hope this works.
I'm really enjoying this knife! Using a one hand open makes it so much more useful.
I just can't stop talkin about this knife!

Between you obsessing over your 72 and T.J. obsessing over his Signal Corps set and me obsessing over my Carpenter's & Whittler's, Kershaws, the new GEC #15s and just about everything else, I'm beginning to think AAPK needs to hire an in-house obsession councilor.MikeEngland wrote:http://youtu.be/vQ8BwOm5oyc

What, me obsessed? I think not. They were supposed to deliver the lineman's set in today's mail and it did not show up. Tracking shows it having left Shreaveport, Louisiana yesterday, should have been here today. I was all ready with the leather conditioner and shoe polish to spif it up too. Did I tell you I got another lineman's pouch? Ready to clean that one up to. Got to find those lineman's pliers that I have around here somewhere. But I'm not obsessed with them!!

Ray, did you ever set the time zone in your profile? Texas is in Central Time Zone and you're set for Eastern.

Good morning, Jerry! I double-checked my profile and it is set for Central Std Time. My post this moring shows to have been at 6:11 AM, which was correct.jerryd6818 wrote:Ray, did you ever set the time zone in your profile? Texas is in Central Time Zone and you're set for Eastern.![]()
Oh, yeah. Good morning.
What time does that post show on your computer?
Ray
EDIT: Jerry, Come to think of it, I think the computer adjusts all the times to the time zone you have set in your profile.

Re: First Cup Diner!
Hmmm. All the Central time zone times are an hour ahead. I'm set for (UTC -6) Central Standard Time but I do have "Summer Time/DST is in effect:" set as yes. Is that not automatic on this board? (clicks forward an hour in the spring at the appropriate time and back an hour in the fall)
Edit: I guess Daylight Time is not automatic. Reset "Summer Time/DST is in effect:" to no and the times on the posts corrected to the right time. HA! Learned something already this morning. Now if I can just remember that when Spring springs.

Morning Huckleberries!
Ray, I'm setting up for a show this morning too. (Greenville, SC)
Only problem is I already sold all the guns and knives I had available! Now all I have is brass...
Have y'all noticed the escalating sales prices on eBay? Nows the time to sell 'em if you got 'em.
Don't you love the "Salesmas" season?
