Queen Collectors Club

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

If any one, that has any information please help. In 1999?? had a advertisement in Knife World.
The first 300 ?? could be charter members. Howard Drake, John Sullivan ,Jennie Moore were
the overseer. The club sent old stock bond,a member ship card,a news letter sent to you.
then a couple of years later the club dues were dropped, and just send your e-mail address to club website. Queen club knives offered with members # on them.

I'm definitely not a charter member; joined in 2007, with three three biennial shows under my belt. I've never gotten a newsletter, but the email list is active- I get infrequent email announcements of selected upcoming knife shows.

I do not think there is a current program of putting member numbers on club special edition knives. I have bought several; they are unserialized and no one has asked me for a member number to put on a new purchase. The transactions have gone smoothly.

I believe Mike Sullivan is in a leadership position for the club - His mail address in Export PA is on the site and he has responded helpfully via email to my questions when I post a message to the club email contact. It is a very informal and helpful group, so if you make a request maybe they can accommodate you. Try Mike Sullivan.
Good luck,

Here's a quick shot. Ebony scales and the old Queen City stamp. Brass pins and guard. There may be some handle /guard variations forthcoming..
Check with Mike for more details.

Beautiful knife. I love the big fixed blades. This very similar to the Queen Classic in stag and in red stag. They are a handful.

Does this knife carry a serial number?

Does the Club offer a service to put a "member number" or any engrave or etch on it?

Thanks,

Dan, you'll have to talk to Mike about the particulars.
No, they are not serial numbered. Only 100 are being made.

Thank you, Bruce.
I'll look for one of those cowboy bowies when the site lists them.

Just visited the club site and noticed the contact info is not right on top:

For mail address go to "Offline Orders" see Export address.

For e-mail, go to "shows" search down to listing for "Dutchland Knife Show" and find email address for Mike Sullivan.

Good luck

Can anyone tell me if the summer Queen show is still on for July this year? I haven't seen it listed in the Knife World upcoming events lately. I was worried that with ownership changing, the show may be canceled.

Confirming dates above: noon 7/26-till 4PM, 7/27. The Queen show is scheduled for the firehall in Pleasantville, 5 miles east of Titusville on PA route 27. I believe one change due to ownerhsip and new insurance is NO MORE FACTORY TOUR. Hershey stopped allowing people in the actual candy factory in the late 1960s - Insurers are forcing fruit farmers to only use short cultivars instead of the wonderful old oxheart cherry trees we picked from -- It is no surprise that reducing liability risk has also hit Queen.

I look forward to this show, because while it is not the largest show, it does bring together lots of people with knowledge and nice examples of Queen knives. It is a target-dense environment for queen knife collectors.

Hope to see you there.
