I agree. That's part of the reason why I got it.

With the patina on that nicely swedged spear blade, it looks like a well kept knife from the '20s. Very nice indeed.

Hahaha...

I received it brand new this past Friday. I scratched up the blade pretty bad during sharpening, so I took some sandpaper to it and applied a bit of cold blue to improve the appearance. Not so much well-kept knife from the 20s as much as a buggered-up knife from last week. ::dang::

For an EDC, I have a Case Sodbuster Jr. These, IMO are very durable and well made but, I'm partial to case knives anyway. :D

Welcome aboard Dave!

I agree about the Sodbuster, I have a large one that I carry pretty frequently for work, it is solid and reliable, and ya sure don't have to baby it. Built to be used...

I didn't mean I thought it is from the 20's. I was trying to say, in that picture, it has the appearance of a knife from the '20s.

I stuck this in my right front today, because it comes closest in size, blade shapes and configuration to the GEC 76 of my dreams:

Great knives being posted here!

Since my new favorite toy, my Camillus 72, is all packed up to go out for some plastic surgery (getting some new scales!), I thought I'd pack this today. It's a Hen and Rooster honest to goodness real Solingen 4 inch sow belly. It's right and tight, and good and sharp. The pics don't show it well, but it has really pretty green bone.

I hear ya Dave. If it works for ya, keep at it. Schrade 863. I'm sure it's boring to some but it's just what I am. Works for me so why should I change?

Well fellers, the plans didn't work out. I was picking my knife out this morning and the baby (2) saw me. He insisted the I pack this one instead! He kept saying , this one. It's a Henckels 4 blade stockman. Absolutely great knife!

Then tonight for church I packed my 4 inch American chestnut handled Canal Street. Nothing is too good for Jesus!

I'm not sure I have a pic of it on the Photopail, let me look....

Viking Dog was nice enough to send me this back some time ago.
I have a better example

So I have a plan to mod the screwdriver blade into a sheepfoot and take some of the scratches out of the main blade.

Have it in my pocket just now.

Thank you Ken. I enjoy them. The Henckels was a trade I made, and the Canal Street was a gift. Today I've gone back to my roots, my comfort zone if you will: Case 6375 red bone.
