Enjoying a Mug as we speak. Apparently I am the only driver in the crew that doesn't flat out refuse a load. Got a 9-10 pick up which could very well be the only reason I'm going to town.

Mornin' Boys!
I have not had a chance to check in here for a few days, had a house full of grandkids, but it was fun and the eatin' was great!
A couple granddaughters are gettin' to be right good cooks! The 13 year old made an awesome peach pie!
I am workin' on a piece of the peach pie with a side of mince pie for breakfast! The breakfast of champions (and old fat men)!

Nice Buck you got there Phin! I bet some of that venison would make outstanding mince meat!
I went to the knee surgeon Wednesday. They set a date for my knee replacement in April. I made the surgery was the week after the OKCA show! I wouldn’t want to miss that!
Maybe after I get my new knee I can get back out into the woods and get my own venison! I am sure a hopin’.

I am really upset with Direct TV! They are not carrying the Oregon Civil War game! One of the oldest football rivalries in college football (1882 I think) and they aren’t carryin’ it!
I ain’t a happy camper & I called them and told them so! Image
I will have to listen to the game on the radio or else my wife & I may just go get a motel that has the game on its cable and watch the game at a motel! We could go to a sports bar, but I don't really want to be around a bunch of drunk Oregon & Oregon state fans. If I didn't mind that I could go watch it in person but I just don't like being around a bunch of excited drunks.
The most important football game of the year in Oregon and Direct TV doesn’t have it on! What a bunch of idiots! It is even being broadcast on the local ABC affiliate and those Bozos put in another game!

OK, all better now, rant off.

Y’all have a great weekend,

Dale,
I understand your rant completely! What I really wanted to comment on was that you and I are probably the only geezers who like mince meat pies. Once my wife found out that it had hog meat in it, well it was all over around my house. Top that with the info that the meat traditionally came from the head of the pig and that was the end of that! A woman will eat a tamale and there is no telling where that meat came from. Hard for me to understand. You can put a gob of whipped cream on top of a big slice of mince meat pie and that is some fine eating.

Dave,
I am impressed that you knew him. Somehow, I always pictured him as a good old boy. Glad to know he was one. One thing for sure, he was a brave man to get in the ring with 'The Greatest'. He really took a pounding.

Paladin, you and Orvet ain't the only "geezers" that like mincemeat pie, there's at least one more! My dad loved it and I learned to love it. We've never made mincemeat, she always gets it out of the jar. We make everything else from home, pecan pies, pumpkin pies(actually cushaw, like Jerryd mentioned the other day), smoked sausage, bulk or patty sausage. We should be ashamed for not making it ourselves. Y'all got any secret family recipes for mincemeat you might want to post on the world wide web? Treefarmer

My mom bought hers but my mother-in-law used to make it. She has gone on ahead so can't help out with this project.

Thomas made four, now I make five. I also like mincemeat. I've only had it once in the last thirty years or so but not too many make it these days.

Phil -- Do y'all also "candy" your Cushaw squash. Mmmm Mmmmm Mmmm

Morning Scott, hope you have a good one today. I see Florida put a whooping on FSU last night - we sure enjoyed the Clemson vs. USC game here! Bruce

Good morning fellers. Beautiful crisp late fall day here in the Bluegrass.
I guess the best thing that can be said about Kentucky's football season is that it is mercifully........OVER! They played arch rival Tennessee yesterday and suceeded in making a sub par Volunteer squad look like champs as the Widcats claimed sole posession of the SEC basement with not one conference win for the year. I've heard all my life that nice guys finish last and (now former) Ky. coach Joker Philips is a heck of a nice guy. ::woot:: Hope he finds a good job somewhere.

Good morning all. Glad to be sittin' up suckin' air.

I don't know if there's any interest in this sort of thing but no one won Power Ball last night so for Wednesday Nov. 28th, it's up to 425 Million. I play. I call it my Red Neck Retirement Plan.

Your chances of winning Power Ball are 1:195,249,054

Putting that into perspective:
if you took 31 acres (23.5 contiguous football fields) and divided it up into one inch squares,
then went five miles away and fired a marble out of a cannon at that 31 acres,
with the only guarantee being it would hit one of those one inch squares in that 31 acres,
that's your chance of winning Power Ball.

Jerry,
The only thing you can do is put more marbles in the cannon.
Hope this helps. ::tu::

Yeah Blue. I'd say your chances are 0:195,249,054, none, nadda, aucun.

I'm not naive when it comes to my chances of winning. When I quit smoking, I re-purposed the money I had been spending on cigarettes to the lottery and knives. Something with a chance (however slim) of some return other than cancer or heart disease and something tangible that doesn't get emptied from an ashtray to the trash can. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone but it works for me.

Morning Guys.
Stayin' home from church today, my wife has the flu.
Enjoy the early service Ray.

I think I probably come out money ahead of most folks who play the lottery..........................I don't buy tickets, but have had tickets given to me.
I think I am +$3 from a scratch off ticket!
