Nail Pull Tool

Here is something a little different for you. It's a nail pull tool by custom knife maker Ken Erickson. For those that don't know a nail pull(pick) is for pulling open a knife with a nail pull slot. They were used by inspectors and final assembly workers that opened hundreds if not thousands of slips in a days work. Also used as giveaways by the factory salesmen. Bulldog still gives them away with several of thier knives. I hope to have a matching Wharncliffe trapper from Ken someday in the near future.

That's cool and very 'handy'. I'm always breaking my thumbnail. Sometimes I have to use a golf tee to lift a tight blade. That's much more classy

here are mine, not as fancy as tank's example. bulldog, moore maker, and kinfolks. the kinfolks was supposed to have been contracted by jim parker along with other brand names he owned at the time.

If you are not a knife inspector...that thing is worthless. But its so cool!

Its like having a Ferrari riding mower. Not necessary. But very cool.

Here are some, bottom three on left are home made, two on the right are home made, top one on left old western states third one from top left old winchester. If you are buying old winchesters or remingtons ect. make sure they are not reproductions, the real ones are costly be careful.

This is the most outstanding vintage knife opener collection I have seen, fabulous..Where in the world did you find these beauty's??

Hers a few custom knife picks. J.D.Lippencott with christmas tree cell. Other end is a switchblade in the presto pattern. A Renkosky. Wayne Madison with mother of pearl handles. Zalesky with candy cane celluloid. another Zalesky with stag. A Les George damascus with horn handles and mosasic pins. Two Charlie Jones picks. A Jerry Bodner miniature pick with abalone handles w/mosasic pin. Another Lippencott in the shape of a bullet w/bail. A Elden Courtney in stag. Old custom pearl.

Sunburst, Every knife show or gun show I go to, I ask "Do you have any Old knife openers?" usually they don't know what they are, but every so often they do. I,ve probably asked every knife dealer I,ve met that question a hundred times for the last 30 plus years. Some times they find a nice one for you.

all this picking got me curious, got a free moment or three out in the shop today and made a few up.

This is one of 4 I made today, the others were plain with no scales in exception of one in purple heart. Stainless steel, brass lined lanyard hole, recon turquoise just shy of 2" long. Compact, lightweight and plenty of leverage
