I'm making my first file knife....a modified "Boot knife" and I'd like to attach the scales with rivets I think are called "birdseye rivets". They resemble the ones in the photo below. I Googled up "knife making supplies" and I think I'm more confused now than I was before.
Question #1. Are these indeed called "birdseye rivets"?
Question #2. When the manufacture indicates the length as 5/8" or whatever, is that the overall length AFTER they are peened into place or is that the length of each half?
Question #3. Can anyone suggest where's the best place to buy these?
